Kitchens by Ken - Willow Grove, PA

Hello, my name is Ken Bloom. If youíre reading this page itís probably because you are considering remodeling your kitchen or bathroom. I invite you to browse through my website and hope youíll considering contacting me to discuss your renovation project. For now though, let me tell you a little about myself and the services I provide.

As a kid, I spent many weekends helping my father on his jobs. He was a sheet metal mechanic by trade who ran an informal business making, installing and repairing commercial kitchen equipment in bars, restaurants, and pizza parlors. I swore I would never do that kind of work, so after high school I enrolled in Temple University and graduated four years later with a degree in radio communications and journalism. But I found that I really didnít like the broadcasting business and I really missed working the kitchen jobs so it was back to weekends with my dad while I figured things out. By chance, I heard of a residential kitchen design showroom that was looking to add an employee. I interviewed for the job, was hired the next day and havenít looked back since. Two years later I started Ken Bloom Kitchens. That small business grew into 1st Line Kitchens, a 6,000 square foot showroom and fabrication shop that I opened in 1997. Responding to the realities of the economic slowdown and the collapse of the real estate market in 2007, I downsized, reorganized and opened Kitchens By Ken, LLC in 2009.

I am a kitchen designer, but I do much more than simply layout your cabinets. I plan the entire job. I work closely with you not only with the design, but also in selecting the cabinets, countertops, appliances, tiles and all other finished product. Iíll develop the electrical plan and recommend the lighting and plumbing fixtures that best compliment the job. Iíll project manage the installation, meeting with my foreman daily to make sure your schedule is maintained and troubleshoot any potential problems. Most importantly, Iíll coordinate everything so that material deliveries are on time and construction progresses on schedule. I am your liaison to every aspect of the entire project.

Before you throw your trust to a home center, whose clerk used to work in the paint department and will probably be transferred to hardware before your job is done; before you spend your time with a design boutique who may or may not consider your project worthy of their valuable time; and before you engage a contractor whoís a kitchen expert, and a windows, roofing, heating and chimney cleaning expert too, give me a call or send me an e-mail. Iíve successfully completed hundreds of jobs in the Philadelphia area and would like the opportunity to successfully complete yours!

Thank you.
